Rhythm of Africa - hear the beating of the drum
Words by Rachel Watkins
Take your family on safari to deepest, darkest Africa, watch the sun set on the savannah, be captivated by the wildlife and indulge in the very best that Africa has to offer. For just under $54 a family of four can take part in Werribee Open Range Zoo’s Rhythm of Africa. This summer long event operates every Saturday and Sunday between January 3rd and March 8th 2008.
Animal nightlife erupts in the background while the main event takes place in a traditional savannah village. Guests can embrace the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of African culture, touring the park before taking part in drumming workshops, having their hair braided and delighting in the African cuisine and traditional dancing.
Guests will enjoy entertainment from both traditional and contemporary performers including Musiki Manjaro Dambai Dance Group, Adzohu and The Pan African Choir and the Royal African Drummers.
Bring a picnic and a blanket to ensure a memorable evening in Africa, whether it be with family, friends or co-workers. |
